There's a great shell command that scans your network on all interfaces that are connected. The command is arp -a. Improve this answer. This command shows you the mac-addresses that are stored in your arp-table usually, I would guess, this table would not be a complete list of all devices on your subnet. It does so for me, in live-time. If I disconnect a device and rerun arp, the change is noticed immediately, the same goes for connecting a new device.
This is the correct answer, a built-in application native from the OSX system and display all information requested by the user in question. Then select Netstat tab, choose radio button Display routing table information , then hit the blue Netstat button. It takes quite a while to get results. Or is it just my wife's new iPhone? I also downloaded the netgear genius app, and they appear there, too.
The problem is that my devices cannot communicate with each other and do not lie when I display the networks on the devices themselves. All computers are running Win 10 and wired and wireless internet access works great. Through files and printers sharing, I managed to get a wireless laptop to talk to a desktop computer, but by the Wireless Office, too. The files are now accessible by computers, but the laptop does not see the printer that is hard wired to the desktop. Before 10th of Windows, wireless computer could talk to another computer when it is wired - that no longer works.
I am also unable to see desktop computers from another computer wired or wireless laptop. I think I'm being stupid here, but I'm tired of banging my head against the wall I read another post on this subject, where the global address list should restart router sound every morning for its computers to see each other. This is not the case in my question; restarting changes nothing, and the router connection shows all the devices - I can't get them to see through computers.
Thank you, Elaine! For some reason, using the genius of Netgear has allowed these computers to communicate again. It has no sense to me why it would change anything, but it did, and now all computers communicate with each other. Intermittent problems with the printer, but still believe it has anything to do with its time-out settings. I get repeated requests to enter the network password.
I get repeated requests popping up asking me to enter my network password. I tried to turn off my scanner antivirus e-mail that I had been informed, this could be the source of the problem, but it is still happenning. Make sure you firewall No. If all the foregoing is OK and it does not connect to the wireless router. Journal from any computer that is or may be connected to the wireless router with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless streaming is enabled and try to connect with no. Control Panel, network and sharing Center.
Upper-left click Manage wireless networks. Given that your wireless network is more in the preferred list, it will prompt for the password. Put the password that is current, and if all goes well it will connect. All Indications, that it should work Instead, I get a message Nothing seems to work What I am doing wrong?
And what happens if you try the same steps after the reboot of the router and your computer. I installed a reader Networks to connect it to my router. It works very well for retieving files, but I can't write to it. I get a message saying "You must. Everything works fine, except my network 3 sheets drive. I find it impossible to write to it in WIndows Explorer.
I can, however, open any type of file off the drive. You can check out the link below and provide a complete control on the network drive. Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter. I have a home network with two computers Vista and I have a Vista laptop for work. Where my work laptop is home it does not automatically connect to the internet, similarly if I want it.
When I go to network and sharing on laptop computer center it displays icons for the laptop, my home and internet network. Threre is a X red between the network icon and the internet. If I click on the red X a pop-up window indicates that Windows checks the problem.
When I click on a window pops up that says repair, and after a brief interval, she announced that the problem has been fixed, and it was fixed. How can I configure things so that she will do it automatically without this manual intervention.
There must be some way because I have never asked a password or permission to continue. If I turn off the laptop and then turn it back on a few moments later, the network connection is still there.
The problem occurs when I try again a few days later. I tried to submit this a couple of days, but it does not appear under my son, so I don't know what happened.
If the previous post is without me being able to find I apologize. I don't like having to type things, that's for sure. I'm not sure it would fix the problem however, because the problem occurs after a day power off and power back up a few days later.
So presumably the power to the network adapter has been disable for power off intervals. Something happened tonight when I put under tension. Asked me to confirm something on the network unfortunately I can't remember what and after that, I was connected to the internet - without having to go through the manual process described with my problem. So maybe something has been reconfigured will correct the problem.
I suspect that an original device connected to the modem cable I note that tech online article does talk to a wireless network using the Would be grateful for advice on the feasibility of this. I currently have a Time Capsule, Airport Extreme connected my cable modem. If the AEBS is a model of turn then it supports New the AEX take in charge I hope you can help and I don't know if I'm worried for nothing, but it began to annoy me now.
Once the old extreme and time capsule are in Bridge mode to extend the network, because they are wired into the new AE. This morning was faltering then checked connection airport utility. Two new AE and TC had the warning triangle and were asking to be "forgotten" to the network. Reset the new AE and airport utility picked up so I put up from scratch and has received the green light nice and everything was fine! Then implement the TC.
The minute that this was recorded on the network, even in Bridge mode, which suggested the airport utility, the new AE got the dreaded yellow triangle and asked to forget. I've done a few times now, step by step, update that I will and I can not all 3 on the network "green lit" as they used to be. I used the app to radar network and it is smooth or duplicate IP addresses, but most annoying network works like a charm.
The only unit with the appropriate settings for access to the internet is the new AE - all the other boxes are simply fill these parameters therefore, even with the yellow triangle, it always seems to work. Am I worry for nothing, or is there something I should be concerned? An idea is an update which was pushed caused some problems? Posted on Jan 20, AM. You won't be able to find out "who" is using your wireless network without some real detective work, but you can always see how many devices are connected to the wireless at any given time. So, it might be better to first change your wireless password, and then give it only to those who you want to use the network.
A list of devices that are connected to the wireless network will appear. If you click on each device, more information and ID numbers will be displayed about that particular device.
With some detective work, you may be able to figure out which device belongs to which person. Jan 20, AM. Jan 20, PM in response to elmonell In response to elmonell.
